The past couple of weeks have been sooo packed for me. I feel like I am constantly in class or at the library doing homework so that leaves little time for blogging and my other interests outside of school. Add a social life, sleep, and working out on top of that and there are just not enough hours in a day!
I only have one more week of classes before spring beak and I’m so excited to have some time to relax! This is always the point in the school year where my motivation is at an all time low. Winter in Minnesota gets a little depressing and after 6 months of school I’m starting to get realll tired of it lol! This break will hopefully allow me to recharge my brain and have more time to focus on blogging.
Since my life has been super busy lately I thought I would share some tips on living a balanced life and making time for the things that are important to you!
First, make a list of all the things you need to fit into your week. This might include school, work, working out, socializing, pre-scheduled plans, etc. Figure out what holds the most priority in your life. Yes, spending time with your friends and family might be the most important thing to you, but school or work usually needs to come first!
Once you have figured out what you HAVE to do, you can start adding in all of the “extras.” I would really recommend using a planner or your phone calendar to plan everything if you struggle with overbooking yourself. The one I use is from Target last year, but they still have the cutest and affordable planners!
For me the most important things after going to class are studying, eating, working out, and sleeping. I try to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night so I need to try my best to get my homework done by midnight. I am most most efficient when I go to the library so I usually just go straight there after my classes or when I have breaks during the day. As much as I want to go back to my room and watch Netflix or take a nap I just have to push through my homework so I can do whatever else I want to do that night.
I have been trying my best to workout a few times a week, but sometimes I just don’t have time for it or I would rather have more time to sleep–if you haven’t noticed yet I really like my sleep! Homework is more of a priority for me so if I have time after that I will usually go to the gym. As a college student, most of my social life revolves around the weekend so I try to work on bigger assignments throughout the week so I’m not stuck with a 5 page paper due Sunday night–we’ve all been there and it sucks.
Since starting blogging I have had to make time for that, too. I don’t think most people think about how much time and work goes into every post someone puts up. Finding time to take and edit pictures and then put everything together in a blog post can take hours upon hours so it can be really tough to incorporate it into my college schedule. But like I said before, prioritize what is most important in your life and I’m sure you won’t miss out on the other things you think you “need” to do. Doing what I love has made me feel so much happier and fulfilled!
I’ve been really horrible at reading my Bible the past few weeks so my goal for this month is to consistently read it every night. Today was the first Sunday where I didn’t have a ton of homework so I took some time to dive back into my reading. Today’s readings were Genesis 11-20.
“then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them” Genesis 11:6
“I am your shield” Genesis 15:1
“God is with you in everything you do” Genesis 21:22
